Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) have been used in a lot of industrial fields. In this paper, a review of faults and diagnosis methods of PMSM is presented. Firstly, the electrical, mechanical and magnetic faults of the permanent magnet synchronous motor are introduced. Next, common fault diagnosis methods, such as model-based fault diagnosis, different signal processing methods, and data-driven diagnostic algorithms are enumerated. The research summarized in this paper mainly includes fault performance, harmonic characteristics, different time-frequency analysis techniques, intelligent diagnosis algorithms proposed recently and so on.

In vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs), safety messages are exchanged among vehicles and between vehicles and infrastructure to ensure passengers' safety and efficiency in traffic. The source authentication as well as integrity checking of these messages are very necessary for a receiver. Based on certificateless cryptography (CLC), some state-of-the-art signature schemes have been proposed to address these. Although they fulfill the requirements of authentication and privacy, they are not efficient with respect to performance. Bilinear pairings and map-to-point hash functions are used in these schemes. These require a huge amount of time to process. The computational power and storing capacity of an on-board unit (OBU) in each vehicle are limited. Therefore, computational overhead is induced on vehicles that need to authenticate messages in areas of high traffic density. In this paper, a provably secure and efficient certificateless short signature-based conditional privacy-preserving authentication (CLSS-CPPA) scheme for V2V communication is designed. This scheme does not use bilinear parings and is based on the elliptic curve cryptosystem (ECC). In addition, instead of map-to-point hash functions, general hash functions are used. Furthermore, the CLSS-CPPA scheme supports the batch signature verification method which allows multiple signatures to be verified simultaneously and efficiently. The CLSS-CPPA scheme ensures security against type-I and type-II attackers with respect to existential unforgeability against adaptively chosen message attacks (EUF-CMA) under a hardness assumption of the elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem (ECDLP) in the random oracle model (ROM). The proposed scheme significantly improves performance in terms of computational and communication costs in comparison with state-of-the-art schemes.

In this paper, the problem of switched networked control systems (SNCSs) with external disturbance and actuator /sensor faults is investigated. Meanwhile, the communication constraints such as network-induced delay, packet dropouts, and packet disorder are considered in communication network. A robust adaptive sliding mode control method is proposed for disturbance damping and faults tolerant, which is designed on an observer and second-order discrete-time adaptive sliding mode function. Furthermore, the reachability of sliding motion is proved. Then, the networked predictive control (NPC) method is employed to compensate the communication constraints. Finally, the stability of the closed-loop system is proved, and a numerical example and a mass-spring-damping system are used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper is concerned with the load frequency control (LFC) for the multi-area power system (MAPS) in the presence of cyber-attacks and disturbances. A resilient model predictive control (RMPC) strategy combined with the mixed H2/H∞ performance index and dynamic event-triggered mechanism (DETM) is developed by using the cone complementarity linearization algorithm and the linear matrix inequality technique. With the application of H2/H∞ performance index, the resilience of the controlled MAPS is achieved and the cyber-attacks launched on the MAPS can be dealt with effectively. The goal of the DETM is to enhance the communication efficiency by interrupting the communication of the MAPS, the triggering condition of which utilizes the internal dynamic variable. Moreover, rigorous derivations on the recursive feasibility of the RMPC are given. Finally, a MAPS is given to illustrate the validity of the presented control strategy.

In this paper, the tracking problem for four wheel independent actuated (FWIA) electric vehicles (EV) system with motor actuator fault and unmatched disturbance is investigated. An adaptive fast sliding mode fault tolerant control (AFSMFTC) scheme is proposed. First of all, a composite observer is designed to estimate the state and disturbance simultaneously; by introducing an updating law, the fault efficiency factor is reconstructed at the same time. Then, in accordance with the estimation information, an AFSMFTS strategy is proposed based on the error and error difference of the tracking information. The AFSMFTC, which includes two adaptive control laws, can realize a self-adapting adjustment to the controller parameters, such that a faster convergence is guaranteed. Furthermore, the estimated disturbance value is utilised to design the sliding mode controller in order to improve the robustness of the tracking performance. Finally, two fault cases are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper addresses the problem of robust tracking control of networked control systems with communication constraints (network-induced delay, packet dropouts, and packet disorder) and external disturbance. A novel networked predictive control algorithm based on k -order adaptive discrete-time sliding-mode control ( k -ADSMC) is proposed. The ADSMC, which can self-adapting adjust sliding-mode parameters and ensure faster convergence, is designed based on the error and error difference of tracking output. Furthermore, k -ADSMC is designed, which uses the estimated disturbance as weight factors and synthesizes the sliding- mode values of all k times, in order to improve the robust of tracking control. Finally, the stability of the system is proved, and a dc motor servo system is utilized to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
