Oksana Komova studied chemistry in Novosibirsk State University then worked as a researcher in Boreskov Institute of Catalysis where she obtained a Ph.D. in 2000. She is now a senior researcher in Boreskov Institute of Catalysis. Her research interests are hydrides, systems of hydrogen storage and generation, catalytic processes of hydrogen evolution, and catalysts synthesis.
