Ahmed Zayed received his B.Sc. in pharmaceutical sciences from Tanta University in 2003, an M.S. in pharmacognosy from Tanta University in 2012, and a Ph.D. in bioprocess engineering from the Technical University Kaiserslautern (now RPTU) in 2018. He is currently an associate professor of pharmacognosy at the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University. His research interests include the extraction, isolation, and structural elucidation of natural bioactive compounds from marine and terrestrial plants, particularly fucoidan from brown algae. In addition, he conducts research in foodomics and the nutraceutical applications of medicinal plants.
