Dr. Frank J.A. van Ruitenbeek currently works at the University of Twente. He received an M.Sc. degree in geology and a Ph.D. degree in geological remote sensing from Utrecht University, Utrecht, The Netherlands, in 1993 and 2007. In 1997, he joined the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands. He is now a Lecturer, and he has also been an Assistant Professor with the Department of Applied Earth Sciences since 2007. Dr. Frank J.A. van Ruitenbeek uses infrared (IR) hyperspectral datasets to measure rock composition and microstructure. He applies these methods to study hydrothermal systems, ore deposits, early life environments, and planetary surfaces.
