Xiaomei Liao completed a Ph.D. in physical oceanography from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangzhou, China, in 2016. She is currently serving as an associate researcher at the College of Life and Oceanography, Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, China. Her research focus is on tropical ocean dynamical processes and their impact on the marine ecosystem.
