Dr. Guillermo Barreto has held a permanent position as Director of
Research (DR) of the “Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique” (CNRS) of
the French Republic since January 2021. He works as a Team Leader to the Research Unit “Ingénierie
Moléculaire et Physiopathologie Articulaire” (IMoPA, UMR 7365) of the
Université de Lorraine in Nancy. Before, he worked as an Independent Research Group
Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Germany and
as Postdoc at the German cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Germany. The research
activities in Barreto´s laboratory are focused on epigenetic mechanisms
regulating transcription and global genome organization under physiological
conditions and their alterations during chronic diseases, such as lung cancer
(LC) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
