Dr Chun Sung Byun earned, from Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine, a BS in Medicine (2005), a Master's in Medical Science (2015), and a PhD in Medical Science (2020). He is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine. His work in thoracic surgery and trauma care has resulted in over 40 peer-reviewed publications, numerous conference presentations, lectures, and clinical training courses; memberships, including the Korean Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Korean Society of Traumatology, and Korean Society of Critical Care Medicine; and awards in academic research grants and surgical innovation. His research interests include thoracic trauma, pneumothorax management, lung cancer surgery, extracorporeal life support, and postoperative critical care.
