Prof. Dr. Ovidiu Vasile was born on 3 May 1978 in Târgoviște, Romania. He graduated from Politehnica University of Bucharest in mechanical engineering and received an M.Sc. in acoustics and vibration control from the same university in Romania in 2001. In April 2009, he received a Ph.D. from the same university in the field of mechanical engineering concerning modeling noise and vibration control. Dr. Vasile is currently a university professor in the Department of Mechanics at Politehnica University of Bucharest. Additionally, since 2004, he has been involved in various research and experimental studies with the Research Institute for Construction Equipment and Technology, ICECON, in Bucharest. From 2005 to the present, he has served as the General Secretary of the Romanian Acoustics Society and as the Managing Editor of the Romanian Journal of Acoustics and Vibration. His research topics mainly include the following: technical acoustics, noise and vibration measurements, vibro-acoustics of materials, mechanical vibrations, seismic isolation, computational mechanics, and signal processing.
