Daniele Chiriu is an Associate Professor at the Department
of Physics, University of Cagliari, University Campus of Monserrato, Italy. He
received his M.S. in Physics in 2003 from the University of Cagliari and his
Ph.D. in experimental Physics in 2007. He was employed at SCIMEX s.r.l.—SAES
Opto Materials as R&D supervisor on crystals for optoelectronics, TLD and
OSL dosimetry, X-ray digital imaging, PET imaging, and laser materials from
2007 to 2010. From 2010 to 2013 he was employed at Portovesme s.r.l. (Glencore)
as an R&D engineer and production supervisor. He served as Assistant
Professor (RTDa) at the Department of Physics, University of Cagliari from 2013
to 2018, as Assistant Professor (RTDb) from 2019 to 2022, and as Associate
Professor in Applied Physics since 2022. Since 2019 he has been a member of the
Advisory Board of the PhD research school in Physics at the University of
Cagliari. In 2023 he obtained the National Qualification as a Full Professor in
Applied Physics. His research interests include material characterization,
materials, optics, nanomaterials, nanoparticles, spectroscopy, laser, sem
analysis, optoelectronics, and synthesis.
