M. Chami, PhD, is a professor in physics at Sorbonne Université (Paris, France). He works on ocean color remote sensing for the detection of suspended matter from satellite sensors. He is an expert on radiative transfer modeling for the coupled atmosphere-ocean system. He has helped to develop inverse methods for retrieving the bio-optical properties of hydrosols. He is also involved in the development of optical instrumentation.
