Dr. Carla Maleita completed her PhD in biology–ecology from the University of Coimbra (UC) in 2012. Currently, she is developing her research activities in chemical engineering and renewable resources for sustainability (CERES) and in the Centre for Functional Ecology (CFE), UC. Her research focuses on the development of innovative, integrated, and sustainable strategies for the management of plant-parasitic nematodes, through the development of fully degradable in-soil bionematicide delivery systems based on the use of phytocompounds from agricultural residues.
