José Carlos Cárdenas Gómez was awarded the designation of Architect by the National University of San Agustín, Peru (2008–2012) and Master in Advanced Construction in Building by the Polytechnic University of Catalunya, Spain (2016–2018). He has experience in the formulation and execution of the project "Sumaq Wasi" within the National Rural Housing Program, part of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation of Peru. This program promotes access to affordable, thermally comfortable housing focused on vulnerable populations settled at elevations of more than 3500 meters in the Andes and using traditional techniques in adobe and masonry construction. His line of research is vernacular construction in Andean contexts and the incorporation of technological improvements for better thermal and structural performance.
