Biography

Dr. Rupesh Tayade is working as a postdoctoral researcher at Kyungpook National University (KNU), South Korea. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in plant bioscience at KNU, South Korea. He worked on molecular mechanisms involved in seed starch content in soybeans. Eventually, he and his research team discovered the novel QTL for seed starch content in soybean. Prior to his Ph.D., he worked in private sector R&D where he performed marker-assisted selection (MAS) for vegetable and field crops, with several MAS-based hybrid releases with disease-resistant and economically important traits during this period. Dr Tayade's research interests comprise a wide range of plant sciences, including molecular biology, gene identification through approaches such as QTL mapping, QTlseq, and GWAS, and integration of omics approaches. He strives to develop sustainable agriculture transformation in an eco-friendly manner. Dr Tayade has published interesting research articles in reputed journals. As a postdoctoral fellow, he is working on crop improvement for biotic and abiotic stress by genomic and breeding tools, and root morphological traits of soybeans. He is a member of the Korean Plant Breeding Society, and has served as a reviewer in reputable international journals.
