Dr. Marco F. L. Lemos (PhD) is an Associate Professor with habilitation at the Polytechnic of Leiria, focusing his research on the study of toxicological modes of action using biochemical and molecular tools in stress ecology and ecotoxicology and also in the marine biotechnology field. He was the Coordinator of FCT R&D Units Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre (MARE-IPLeiria) and Marine Resources Research Group (GIRM) and the Coordinator of CETEMARES building (Marine Sciences R&D, Education, and Knowledge Dissemination Centre) and also the national MARE Biotechnology line Coordinator. He is the Director of the COVID19 Diagnosis Centre of the Polytechnic of Leiria. He is also the PI of several national and international projects, including other research centers and the industry (>20M Eur). He has over 90 ISI publications, one European and one national patent, one book and five book chapters published, and he is the author/co-author of over 160 communications in scientific congresses.
