Biography

Dr. Muhammad Altaf Khan is an applied mathematician specializing in the qualitative theory of nonlinear differential equations and the application of fractional calculus to epidemiological modeling. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics in 2015 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of the Free State, South Africa. He is currently serving as a Specially Appointed Professor at Korea University, South Korea, and a researcher at UPM. Dr. Khan’s research focuses on the mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, including dengue fever, COVID-19, tuberculosis, and mpox. His work employs advanced analytical and numerical techniques, particularly fractional-order models, to better understand disease transmission dynamics and inform effective control strategies. He has published extensively in reputable peer-reviewed journals and actively collaborates with international researchers on interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of mathematics, biology, and medicine. His ongoing work contributes to advancing fractal and fractional approaches in real-world biological and medical systems.
