Fabio Arena is Associate Professor of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, University of Foggia (Foggia, Italy). He is the Rector's delegate for research. He earned a bachelor's in Medicine from the University of Siena (Siena, Italy) and he specializes in Microbiology and Virology and in Infectious Diseases. He is the Guest Editor of the Special Issue "The Epidemiology of Antimicrobial Resistance in Bloodstream Infections: Focus on Activity of New Antibiotics" and Topical Advisory Panel Member of Antibiotics in MDPI. His research interests mainly include bacteriology, virulence, antimicrobial resistance, and new diagnostic approaches. His scientific output includes 75 publications, corresponding to 3217 citations (h-index 25) (Scopus, 9 January 2024).
