Adriana M Torres is a full professor in mycology and researcher for the National Research Council of Argentina (CONICET) at the Institute of Mycology and Mycotoxicology (IMICO), CONICET-Universidad Nacional de Rio Cuarto. She received her doctorate in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Rio Cuarto. Her current research interests include biocontrol agents of phytopathogenic and mycotoxigenic fungi as well as molecular and eco-physiological studies of mycotoxigenic fungi in food and its control. The underlying aim is to provide environmentally friendly sustainable disease control measures whilst at the same time reducing inputs. In these fields, she has conducted research for more than 30 years. She has more than 80 research publications in international journals. She is a founding member and the current president-elect of the Latin American Society of Mycotoxicology.
