Maria Teresa Durães Albuquerque is an Assistant Professor of Habilitation in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Escola Superior de Tecnologia of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco. She is a senior researcher at CERNAS Center- Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, and at the Institute of Earth Sciences (IES) - University of Évora. She is the author and co-author of more than 100 publications in international journals, in book chapters of international editions, and international and national conferences. She has participated in several international conference technical committees and has been a scientific reviewer of several international journals and conferences. She has also developed scientific dissemination activities in several international workshops and symposia. She has participated, as a researcher, in national and European research projects. She is a member of the International Association of Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG) and of the Portuguese Association of Geologists (APG). The undergoing research work focuses on the areas of Data Analysis and Stochastic Modeling (Geostatistics) applied to the Environment, Geo-resources, Ecology, and Public Health.
