Dr. Ali-Khan Medeu is Head of the Geospatial Economics Laboratory at the JSC "Institute of Geography and Water Security". He received the degree of Doctor of Economic Sciences on the topic “Globalization Risk Management” at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2009. He has published 38 papers in various journals, including four monographs. His interests include the study of management problems and risk assessment methods. He is an advocate of quantitative and objective approaches to risk assessment using probabilistic models. Within this framework, he developed models for assessing and managing investment risk in the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan, as well as models related to globalization risk. He has also worked on the formation and comprehensive assessment of risks, research on globalization issues, and the economic valuation of water resources.
