Dr. Amanda Prado is a researcher in environmental biotechnology and bioelectrochemistry, recognized for her contributions to photo-bioelectrochemical systems and the use of purple phototrophic bacteria for sustainable resource recovery. She holds a BSc in Biology (URJC, 2013), an MSc in Biotechnology (UAM, 2014), and a PhD in Hydrology and Water Resources Management (UAH, 2021). Following her doctoral work, she joined the Group of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, where she has established an emerging research line at the interface of bioelectrochemistry, microbial physiology, and advanced environmental technologies. Her work focuses on extracellular electron transfer processes, the development of carbon-based materials and electrodes, and the design of photo-bio(electro)refineries for the treatment and valorization of solid and liquid waste streams. She has contributed to European and national research initiatives collaborating with leading academic groups EU. Dr. Prado has authored articles in high-impact journals. Her scientific trajectory reflects a strong commitment to the development of sustainable technologies aligned with circular bioeconomy strategies and the European Green Deal.
