Graduated physician specialist in Immune-hemotherapy since 1995 at the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Centre of Thrombosis and Hemostasis and Cell Therapy Centre, at University Hospital Centre of Santa Maria (CHULN/ULSSM) in Lisbon, Portugal. Obtained her M.D. degree in Medicine in 1981 in Lisbon University, Portugal. Immune-hemotherapy specialist since January 1990, residency (1985-1989) and working since this date at the CHUN/ULSSM. Work experience: 2 special focus: cell therapy and coagulation (thrombosis and hemostasis). Current position: Coordinator of Cell Therapy Centre, especially of Apheresis Unit since 1990 and of Viscoelastic Tests Laboratory since 2016 of the CHULN/ULSSM, which is reflected in daily practice and scientific activity. Member of 2 multidisciplinary working group: “Patient Blood Management” and “Bleeding Management in different scenarios”, being the coordinator of gastrointestinal bleeding management working group. Author and co-author of scientific papers and book chapters. Oral communications (more than 250) in national and international congress. Clinical investigation in several clinical studies especially in cell therapy and coagulation areas. Co-funder of the Portuguese Association of Thrombosis and Hemostasis (APTH) (July/2023) Membership of the following societies (actually): European Bone Marrow transplantation (EBMT), Portuguese Association of Immune-hemotherapy (APIH) and APTH.
