Biography

My name is Dr. Anna Korompeli, and my current position is Academic Laboratory Teaching Staff Member in the Department of Nursing at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specializing in Intensive Care and Rehabilitation Nursing. My scientific profile is distinguished by a publication record in high-impact journals and a focused research agenda that bridges critical care, chronobiology, and patient recovery. A central and growing theme in my recent work is nursing rehabilitation for critically ill patients. I have developed and lead an undergraduate elective course, "Nursing Rehabilitation for the Chronically Ill," and my research extends into post-ICU recovery. I have actively participated in national rehabilitation conferences, co-authored book chapters and systematic reviews. This work highlights my commitment to translating ICU survival into meaningful recovery, focusing on functional outcomes and quality of life. Academically, I maintain intensive teaching activity at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I teach courses related to Intensive and Emergency Care Nursing, First Aid, Nursing Rehabilitation, and Circadian Rhythms. My research is grounded in high-quality scientific evidence, as demonstrated by my publication metrics. My work aims not only to optimize the acute phase of critical illness but also to pave the way for more effective, informed strategies for patient rehabilitation and long-term health after intensive care.
