Assoc. Prof. Abdurrahman Avar Özdemir graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, in 1996 and completed his residency training in Pediatrics at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine between 1997 and 2002. He received the academic title of Associate Professor in Pediatrics in 2020. Throughout his academic career, he has served as a faculty member at Biruni University and Istanbul Atlas University. Since 2023, he has been working at the Department of Pediatrics, Health Sciences University Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital. His academic and clinical research focuses primarily on neonatal diseases, neonatal infections, neonatal respiratory diseases, vitamin D and B12 metabolism, and pediatric nutrition. He has conducted various clinical studies in the fields of neonatal sepsis, vitamin D metabolism, and child health, serving as the principal investigator in several of these studies.
