Beatrice Omonike Otunola is rounding up her Ph.D. at the Centre for Environmental
Management, University of the Free State. Her research is on eco-friendly remediation options for contaminated soil and water in mining environments, using phytoremediation and clay minerals. Beatrice completed her BSc, Honors and MSc degrees in geology and has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals focusing on the geology of South Africa, the mining environment, and environmental remediation. Beatrice looks forward to doing more research work and lecturing, with a focus on environmental sustainability, remediation options that are eco-friendly, economical, and easily applicable.
