Betim Cico is a full professor in the Computer Engineering Department at Epoka University. His current research interests include high-performance computing, digital design, methodologies and tools, e-learning, and FPGA applications in nuclear electronics, among others. He received his Diploma Engineer degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Tirana, Albania (PUT), and his PhD in Nuclear Electronics from the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP, Research Institute), Tirana, Albania, in 1983. He served as a scientific researcher at the INP from 1972 to 1998 (Head of the Nuclear Electronic Department) and as a part-time professor at PUT. Since 1998, he has been a full professor at PUT (until 2012, Head of Computer Engineering Department), South East European University in Tetovo, Macedonia (Dean of Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technology, 2 years), and at Epoka University in Tirana since 2016. He participated as a partner in many European Scientific Activities, like FP5, FP6, FP7, and Horizon 2020. He is also a member of many program committees and stirring committees (ACM, IEEE, Springer Fergal) and on the editorial board of journals.
