Biography

Bingyi Song, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the School of Metallurgy and Energy Engineering, Kunming University of Science and Technology, China. Her research interests focus on nonferrous metallurgy, computational materials science, two-dimensional materials, functional materials, and energy catalysis. Her research combines first-principles calculations, ab initio molecular dynamics, machine-learning-based atomistic simulations, and crystal structure prediction to investigate interfacial reactions, thermodynamic behavior, phase stability, electronic structures, and structure–property relationships. She has published research in journals including the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Science, and Chemical Engineering Journal. She received the 2015 TMS Light Metals Subject Award–Recycling for her work on the recycling of Ag from Pb–Cu–Ag alloys by vacuum distillation. She has served as a principal investigator of a National Natural Science Foundation of China Young Scientists Fund project and has participated in several national research programs.
