Sofía Simeto is a PhD candidate currently in the final stages of completing her degree in Forest Pathology at the University of Minnesota's Department of Plant Pathology, under the supervision of Dr. Robert Blanchette. She obtained her MSc degree from the Universidad de la República, in Uruguay. Sofía Simeto´s major interests are in the area of forest pathology, etiology, biology, and epidemiology of pathogens in commercial Eucalyptus and Pinus plantations, wood decay fungi, biological control and entomopathogenic fungi.
