Carmela Spagnuolo obtained her degree in 2007 in Biological Sciences (University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy). In 2011, she completed a doctorate program in Medical Oncology, Surgery, and Clinical Immunology (Second University of Naples, Italy). Her current position is as a researcher at the Institute of Food Sciences, CNR, Avellino, Italy. In 2010/2011, she moved abroad to the highly qualified LBMCC in Luxembourg. In 2013, she attended the laboratories of Kosuke Yusa in the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute Genome Campus, Hinxton, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom. Her interest is mainly in the study of natural compounds (food extracts and pure molecules) with healthy effects on humans.
