Sorina Martin was born in Bucharest in 1976 and received her medical training (1994-2000) and her PhD in endocrinology with the thesis “Clinical and Biochemical Factors Associated with the Prognosis and the Therapeutic Response in Graves’ Disease” (2014) at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest. She is currently a Lecturer at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy and a Senior Consultant in Endocrinology at Elias Hospital, Endocrinology Department, Bucharest.
She has specialized in thyroid ultrasound and clinical osteodensitometry (ISCD certificate 2007). Her major fields of clinical and research interest are thyroid autoimmunity, neuroendocrine tumors, and osteoporosis.
She is a member of national and international scientific societies in the field of endocrinology.
Her main achievements include being a sub-investigator in three international clinical studies and a member of a research team with five national grants, coauthor of six book chapters, and author and coauthor of many scientific papers, 35 of them being original research articles published in peer reviewed journals.
