I am an electronic engineer from Pamplona University (Colombia), and I graduated in 2000. I received a certificate of advanced studies (i.e., master) and a Ph.D. from the Universitat Rovira I Virgili (Spain) in 2003 and 2005, in the same area. Currently, I am a full-time professor (2006) and researcher (70 scientific papers, 70 conferences as a speaker and lecturer, patents) and coordinator of the Multisensory System and Pattern Recognition Research Group at Pamplona University. Additionally, I have experience in industrial automation and knowledge of data acquisition techniques, embedded systems, pattern recognition methods, and artificial intelligence. I have worked on different projects related to multisensory perception and industrial automation, specifically in developing electronic nose and electronic tongue systems applied in industry and the health sector. I have been the coordinator of four local projects (Minciencias) and three grants (H2020-MCA-EU, Tropsense, 2015; bTB-Test, 2017, Vogas; involved: Canleish, 2021; ARTVOC, 2023), respectively.
