Dr. Catherine Raptopoulou is Director of Research at INN (2013-) and a member of the Sectoral Scientific Council for Physical Sciences and Mathematics, of the Greek Secretariat for Research and Innovation, Ministry of Development and Investments (2020-2023). She holds a Chemistry degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1987) and a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the same university (1992). She worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Crystallography, Institute of Materials Science, NCSR "Demokritos" (1992-1999) and as a Collaborating Researcher at the same lab (2000-2004). Since 2005 is a research scientist at the IMS of NCSR “Demokritos”, and currently at INN. Her research focuses on coordination chemistry, molecular magnetism, bioinorganic and materials chemistry, crystal engineering, and X-ray crystallography. She has deposited 1106 crystal structures at the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (Dec 2023), being in the list of top authors announced yearly by CCDC. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the journals Crystals-Crystal Engineering Section, MDPI (2018-) and Magnetochemistry, MDPI (2020-), and has guest-edited special issues in Polyhedron, 2009, Vol.28(15), and “Advanced Coordination Polymers”, Materials, 2022. She has supervised 3 Ph.D. theses and 3 M.D. theses. She has published 590 papers (15000 hetero-citations and h=68, Apr 2024), 3 book chapters and numerous presentations (oral and poster) at conferences.
