Claudia Maria Simonescu (claudia.simonescu@upb.ro) has been a professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Environmental Engineering - Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnologies - Polytechnic University of Bucharest since 2015. In 2005 she graduated doctoral studies in chemistry with the paper “Unconventional strategies for obtaining sulfides of transition metals” under the supervision of Acad. Prof. Dr. Doc. Maria Brezeanu and CP1 Dr. Luminiţa Patron. The research activity has been materialized in 112 publications (78 ISI articles (Web of Science), 526 citations of which 398 citations (without self-citations in Scopus + Web of Science); (index h = 13 Web of Science, h = 13 Scopus, h = 10 Google Scholar). The teaching activity is materialized by courses and laboratories for Ecology and sustainable development, Biological degradation of pollutants, Sustainable green chemistry, Consumer protection in Romania, guiding students in the elaboration of diploma works, bachelor's degree, master's thesis, participation in tutoring activities, guidance of doctoral students. She is evaluator for the Executive Unit for Financing Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation, for the Council for Science and Technological Development within the Chilean Ministry of Education (CONICYT) - FONDECYT Regular 2017, and for the Czech Science Foundation (2019) and member of editorial teams and scientific referent to scientific journals in the field.
