Dr. Ashok Sharma is an Additional Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and National Cancer Institute (NCI-India),Jhajjar Campus, AIIMS, New Delhi. He received Ph.D. in Cancer Biology at the Department of Biochemistry at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in 2009. He is the recipient of multiple awards, including prestigious “DBT-Ramalingaswami fellowship” “DST-Ramanujan fellowship” awards from Govt. of India and Outstanding Immunologist Award, Immunocon, Indian Immunologist Society, BHU. In 2009, he joined the Vanderbilt Medical Center, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN USA as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2012, he joined the group of Adam R Karpf at Eppley Institute, UNMC, as a senior postdoc. He is working on the Epigenetic & regulation of Cancer-Testis/germline antigen POTE and its biomarkers/therapeutic potential. At present his team exploring the potential of Artificial intelligence in Oncology: Harnessing big data and advanced computing to provide personalized diagnosis and treatment for Cancer patients a joint venture with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Pune India. The main objectives of this project are to establish a methodology and develop a deep-learning-based prototype for feature extraction, characterization, and early detection of Breast and Ovarian Cancer by interrogating the medical and non-medical datasets.
