Dr. Daniel Glossman-Mitnik is currently a Titular Researcher Level C at the Center of research in Advanced Materials (CIMAV), Chihuahua, Mexico, as well as an Emeritus National Researcher at the National System of Researchers (SNII) at the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation (SECIHTI), Mexico. He completed his B.S. in Chemistry at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina (1982), and his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the National University of La Plata, Argentina (1986). He was a visiting scientist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA (1988), the University of Puerto Rico (1989), and the University of Valladolid, Spain (1990-1992). Additionally, he was a visiting professor at the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain (2015). He currently serves as a regular member both of the American Chemical Society and the Mexican Chemical Society. His research focuses on computational chemistry and molecular modeling of molecular systems with pharmacological, food, environmental, and alternative energy applications, using DFT and Conceptual DFT. Dr. Glossman-Mitnik has authored or co-authored more than 320 peer-reviewed papers, 20 book chapters, and two edited books. He has delivered speeches at numerous international and domestic conferences, and has led several academic projects. Additionally, he serves as a referee for more than 60 international journals, books, and research proposals.
