Dr. Danping Xu is a faculty member in the College of Life Science at China West Normal University, Nanchong, China. She received her Ph.D. from Sichuan Agricultural University in 2016. Her research focuses on secondary metabolism, phytochemistry, and quality formation in aromatic and edible plants, particularly Zanthoxylum, Piper, and other plants. She uses metabolomics, transcriptomics, and integrated multi-omics approaches to investigate the biosynthesis, accumulation, and regulation of specialized metabolites underlying aroma, flavor, pungency, and other quality-related traits. Her goal is to improve understanding of secondary-metabolite regulation and support the scientific evaluation and sustainable utilization of economically important plants.
