My research focuses on coastal areas and social-ecological systems. I am interested in bridging the gap between the need to restore ecosystems and the services that they provide with the need for development. Consequently, my research interests encompass the intricate realms of decision-making systems, valuation methodologies for ecosystem services, spatial planning, and the design of Nature-Based Solutions and other ecosystem-based strategies within coastal ecosystems and watersheds. Many tools can be applied, and I am willing to design innovative approaches to recover and enhance critical ecosystem functions for rural and urban communities in developing contexts.
