Diego Luis-Ravelo Salazar currently works as research scientist in the Vulnerability and Neuronal Plasticity Group at the Institute of Biomedical Technologies of University of La Laguna (Tenerife, Spain). He reached the Ph Degree in 2010 at the Centre for Applied Medical Research-University of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain) where his research efforts focused on the molecular mechanism underlying lung cancer metastasis. Before his current position he performed a postdoctoral stay in Freiburg (Germany). Currently, his research activity is focused, among others, on the induction of selective autophagy and its interest as a disease modifying therapy in incurable neurodegenerative disorders such as Huntington's disease. He has been awarded with the Young Investigator Award of the American Society for Bone Mineral Research and PhD with Distinction
