Dr. Dimitrios N. Avtzis currently works at the Forest Research Institute, Hellenic Agricultural Organization Demeter. Dr. Avtzis received a Bachelor’s from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2003 and a Ph.D. from the Institute of Forest Entomology, Forest Pathology and Forest Protection (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences-BOKU, Vienna, Austria) in 2006. Dr. Avtzis was a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Forestry and Natural Environment. Dr. Avtzis conducts research in Forest Entomology, with a particular interest in the biogeography and distribution of forest insects, as well as in innovative methods to control the damage caused by forest pests.
