I am a professor of Chemistry at Louisiana State University (LSU). I received my Ph.D. in Chemistry from Dartmouth College and completed postdoctoral training at University of Minnesota. After serving as a research faculty member at New Mexico State University for two years, I joined the faculty at LSU. My research focuses on macromolecular chemistry and biomimetic chemistry. We design and synthesize macromolecules and polymers with targeted functionality by applying biomimetic principles and investigate the structure-property relationship of these materials. Recently, I have become strongly interested in exploring the molecular evolution of biopolymers, and I am actively expanding my research program to investigate how evolutionary processes shape the functionality and diversity of these materials.
