Academician, Professor Gheorghe DUCA Short CV Academician, Professor Gheorghe DUCA (ORCID: 0000-0001-7265-6293) is author of over 500 research papers, 75 co-edited books, 30 manuals, 167 patents, 530 articles on science popularization and over 470 conference presentation materials. Research interests: computational chemistry; quantum chemistry; chemical kinetics and catalysis; physical-chemical mechanisms of redox processes with electron transfer; ecological and environmental chemistry; kinetics, thermodynamics and mathematical modeling of ecological systems; natural water self-purification; water treatment technologies; chemical risk assessment. During the scientific, teaching and administrative activity Acad. Gh. DUCA has reached the following achievements: - developed and delivered the courses of lectures on physical chemistry, chemical technology, ecological chemistry, physical-chemical research methods, chemical risk assessment, kinetics and thermodynamics of ecological systems at the universities of Moldova, Italy, USA, UK, China, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania; supervised the research activity of 35 doctors and habilitated doctors in sciences, is a member of Expert Commission of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research, was President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (2004-2018), Editor-in-Chief of “Chemical Journal of Moldova”, President of the Chemical Society of Moldova.
