This review showcases how 27 Al MQMAS NMR in combination with 3D correlation of the chemical shift and quadrupolar parameters, enables unambiguously identifying and assigning alumina phases ( e.g. transition alumina's α, χ, κ, θ, γ, δ, η, ρ), independent of their crystallinity, even in physical mixtures.

Cu3(BTC)2 with an incorporated Keggin polyoxometalate was demonstrated to be stable under steaming conditions up to 483 K, while the isostructural HKUST-1 degrades and transforms into [Cu2OH(BTC)(H2O)]n·2nH2O from 343 K onwards.

Exposure of faujasite zeolites to different alkali hydroxide solutions readily yields zeolites with ABW, CHA, MER and ANA topologies. In NaOH faujasite persisted. Aside from new opportunities for zeolite synthesis, this reveals that a suitable aluminosilicate connectivity in the source material significantly facilitates zeolite crystallization.
