Fahim Kanani is a Senior Attending Surgeon at the Wolfson Medical Center and holds a teaching position at its School of Nursing. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree (Medicina e Chirurgia) from the Università degli Studi di Verona in Italy between 2007 and 2014. He is currently pursuing dual degrees—Master of Public Health (MPH) and Master of Health Administration (MHA)—at Tel Aviv University in Israel (2023–2025). His advanced surgical training includes a Robotic Surgery Lab certification from IRCAD in Strasbourg, France (2023–2033), and a Cadaveric Anatomy Fellowship at AIIMS in New Delhi, India. Additionally, he holds international certifications such as ICH-GCP for clinical research and served as a Certified Tutor for the American Heart Association. He has worked at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and the Rabin Medical Center, where he completed a General Surgery residency and a Transplant Surgery internship. At the Sheba Medical Center, he contributes as a lecturer and examiner. His early international experience includes an organ transplant internship at Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata Verona in Italy. His primary focus lies in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery, organ transplantation, abdominal wall reconstruction, and bariatric procedures. He is particularly passionate about translational research that bridges clinical practice with scientific discovery, including studies on microbiota–host interactions and mechanisms of cancer metastasis.
