Dr. Fangli Ying received a B.S. degree from the Department of Software Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2009, and a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science, National University of Ireland, Maynooth, in 2014. He is currently a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Computer Science, East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), Shanghai, China. He also serves as the Industrial-Research Cooperation Director of the department, and undertakes the supervision of postgraduate students, acting as the co-supervisor for 2 international PhD students and the supervisor for 16 MSc students. He is a Visiting Professor at the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand, and co-supervises 5 PhD students at ICDI. His current research interests include computer vision, reinforcement learning for financial trading and AI for protein design. Dr. Ying has authored and co-authored a number of high-quality research papers published in prestigious international conferences and journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, ACM Multimedia, Pacific Graphics, Computer Graphics Forum, International Journal of Molecular Sciences.
