Fernando Cruz-Roldán was born in Baena, Spain, in 1968. He received his Technical Telecommunication Engineering degree from the Universidad de Alcalá (UAH), Spain, in 1990, his Telecommunication Engineering degree from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain, in 1996, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the UAH in 2000. Dr. Cruz-Roldán received the Universidad de Alcalá Prize for the most outstanding doctoral dissertation in the engineering discipline. He joined the Department of Ingeniería de Circuitos y Sistemas (UPM), in 1990, where from 1993 to 2003, he was an Assistant Professor. From 1998 to February 2003, he was a Visiting Lecturer at Universidad de Alcalá. In March 2003, he joined the Universidad de Alcalá, Spain, as an Associate Professor, and since November 2009, he has been a Professor with the Department of Teoría de la Señal y Comunicaciones, Universidad de Alcalá. His main teaching and research interests lie in digital signal processing, multirate systems, and their applications in the fields of digital communications and biomedical engineering.
