Biography

Researcher and PhD student at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, specializing in natural resource management with a comprehensive focus on the flora of the Chihuahuan Desert. My primary line of research centers on the ecophysiology of seeds and desert plants, with a particular emphasis on the Cactaceae family within the state of Chihuahua. Through the study of evolutionary relationships and molecular phylogeny, I aim to understand the adaptation and diversification mechanisms of these species in extreme environments. I complement my scientific work with a deep interest in ethnobotany, exploring the historical ties and biocultural relationships between local communities and their natural surroundings. My work integrates molecular biology tools, in vitro micropropagation, and biostatistical analysis to develop effective, evidence-based conservation strategies. Additionally, I maintain a strong commitment to decolonizing science outreach, seeking to democratize access to botanical knowledge and promote the sustainable management of regional biodiversity in northern Mexico.
