Foram Dave is a Ph.D. student, working on “Laser Transmission Welding (LTW) of Semi-crystalline Polymers and Their Composites” under the supervision of Dr. David Tormey and Dr. Richard Sherlock at IT Sligo, Ireland (from 2018). She was recruited by Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in the automotive electronics department as a Senior Engineer (2016-2018), dealing with sealants, thermal interface material, conformal coatings, and potting an electronic control unit in the automobile sector. She pursued her Master of Technology in Polymer Science and Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India (2014-2016). Her master thesis was based on microbial degradation of the blends, where functionalised poly (lactic acid) was blended with poly (acetic acid) for biomedical applications. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in the Rubber Technology field from LD. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India (2009-2013). She achieved the first position during her M.Tech and BE degree. Her present research focuses on analysing and optimising the laser parameters and carbon black dosage during LTW of polymers for better weld quality and analysing through various polymer characterisation techniques.
