Dr. Francesca Angelone received her PhD Degree in Information and Communication Technology for Health in 2025 from the University of Naples Federico II (Italy). She is now a Post-doctoral reasearcher at the University of Sannio, Benevento (Italy). Her main research interests include medical image analysis, artificial intelligence for denoising, segmentation and classification in medical imaging, and computer-aided diagnosis solutions. On these topics she authored some papers in international journals and has participated in many international conferences. She won a prize funded by Ab Medica Spa for having developed a promising algorithm for the analysis of EEG data within the Neural Data Processing Contest at the IEEE international conference MetroXRAINE 2022. As co-author of the work "The Use of Machine Learning Algorithms in Detecting and Classifying Caries", she received an honorable mention at the 6th International Congress "Technological Innovations and Experimental Protocols in Periodontology, Oral Surgery and Orthodontics. Furthermore, she won the third prize at the StartCup Campania final (a competition of innovative ideas from universities of Campania region), held in Benevento on 24 October 2024, as leader of the team of “ORIS Care”, a business idea developed from the research carried out during her doctorate and focused on a propotyped intraoral scanner for dental diagnostics.
