Gesala Perez-Junkera was born in Zeberio, Basque Country. She graduated from The University of The Basque country in June 2019, in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. After graduating from university in The Basque Country, she began a master's degree in Nutrition and Health, obtaining the title of the master in August 2020. During this period, she has published several articles related to the celiac disease. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in Nutrigenomics and Personalized Nutrition. She is doing her doctorate at the University of The Basque Country, at the Faculty of Pharmacy located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, at the Department of Pharmacy and Food Sciences. She is doing her doctoral thesis in the GLUTEN3S research group with the aim of transferring scientific knowledge about a healthy and balanced diet, celiac disease and gluten-free diet to the general population, and more specifically, to the celiac population.
