I am a researcher in the field of waste management, recycling technology, and sensor-based sorting. My work focuses on the application of sensor based sorting, machine vision and artificial intelligence for material characterisation, object detection, and automated sorting of complex waste and scrap streams. In particular, my research includes YOLO-based detection models, computer vision tools for dataset annotation, Near Infrared Hyper Spectral Imaging and the development of AI-supported sorting approaches for lightweight packaging waste, textile waste and post-shredder scrap. My broader research interests include circular economy, recycling process optimisation, industrial image analysis, and the integration of AI methods into practical waste-management applications.
