Consultant Surgeon at the Bariatric Surgery Unit, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico, Rome, Italy. Dr. Gallo graduated in Medicine and Surgery and obtained her specialization with honors in General Surgery at Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. She later earned a Second-Level Master’s Degree in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Roma. Her clinical and research interests focus on bariatric and metabolic surgery, with particular expertise in the technical evolution of bariatric procedures, gastroesophageal junction surgery, and the application of ERAS protocols in metabolic surgery. She served as Regional Delegate for Lazio within the Italian Society for Obesity Surgery (SICOB) and as Bariatric Surgery Area Coordinator within the Endocrine-Metabolic Surgery MacroArea of the SPIGC (Italian Society of Young Surgeons). Dr. Gallo is author and co-author of several peer-reviewed scientific publications and actively contributes as lecturer in postgraduate master programs and as invited speaker at national and international congresses on obesity and metabolic surgery.
